What we do

Structural Steel detail drawings

This is a three stage process:

1. receive architect and engineer design drawings
2. prepare a 3D model of the job
3. then prepare 2D fabrication drawings and general arrangements

Architectural Feature detail drawings

We also detail architectural features such as:

• secondary steel and aluminium
• timber features
• glass balustrades
• ceilings, facades, stairs and other architectural features

What you get

Accurate and correct fabrication drawings are critical to the success and on time delivery of projects.

To achieve this, our Quality Assurance Management System has been developed in line with AS9001:2001.

These procedures are built-in at every step at Coadata, including:

• Drawing and design checks – frequently, there are many iterations as drawings and designs are modified. Our in-house processes ensure only the most current drawings received are used.
• 3D modelling checks – where provided, we use the architectural CAD files as underlays in our 3D model. In all cases, our set out is checked against architectural drawing dimensions.
• "End of Model" procedure – before drawings are released to the client for approval, another senior detailer ensures the "End of Model" procedures are followed. Section sizes and connections are checked against the engineering design drawings and the set out is compared to the architectural design. Clash tests are also run.

You receive clear no nonsense fabrication workshop drawings with clear general arrangements, showing hold down bolts, marking plans, elevations and sections. This also includes .NC files for beam lines and .dxf files for laser cutting plate work.

We can break the project down into phased construction steps, as required.

We also provide reports of material lists, bolt schedules, drawings registers, and document transmittals. Custom reports such as square metres of paint or galvanising can be prepared where required.

You can see progress at any stage using a free viewing program available on our website here. This means you and the design team can view the 3D model anytime. From the model you can verify member sizes, search for marks and take accurate check-dimensions.
